Understanding makeup products behaviour under differing conditions

It is imperative when you’re working professionally to understand what your products do under different conditions. I can’t imagine how mortified these makeup artists were seeing shots of the celebrity (or ‘talent’ as they’re called in the industry) they’ve made up, with white powder so obviously showing up. Clearly you would not have seen this looking at them in the flesh (as if they would leave the house like this!!). It has occurred because the powder is made for HD (filming in high definition) NOT flash photography (as occurs on the red carpet). It has a high silica content and significantly bounces light when flash photography hits it. If you are going to use HD powder, use it SPARINGLY!! – to control shine rather than using it to set.
