My origins as a makeup artist - where it all began:
Peter was fantastic to train with – sadly he has retired and is no longer teaching, but it truly was a great experience to be solely trained by an artist who has been in the film industry for nearly 40 years. To not only be taught everything he knows, but also to hear the stories of what truly goes on on film sets, egos he’s had to deal with, the – locations as well as A list actors he’s worked with and what they are really like, was a highlight of the course too. Peter made over 41 feature films during his career.
The techniques and products I was taught to use have served me extremely well – information and skills that I pass on to my own students to this day.
Peter’s father – Harry Frampton was a top makeup artist also – working in England and Hollywood, going on to become personal makeup artist to Sir Alec Guiness (who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars films) as well as personal makeup artist to Peter Sellers (The Pink Pather) – Harry made over 80 films in his career; so between Peter and his father Harry, there is a huge history, not to mention enormous talent in the Frampton family.
