On my professional jobs its essential to remove any makeup quickly and completely that a client may have on before I can start. I’m super aware of my products being fine on sensitive skin as well as the ability to use them on any skin type. For this reason I can’t go past Bioderma Crealine, it’s fantastic – it’s gentle, removes makeup beautifully, and essentially to me as a makeup artist – it doesn’t leave the skin with any oily residue. I can go straight in with my primers and get on with doing what I do best – applying the makeup!

Fashion is one thing, but sometimes I find when I’m on a wedding, a client can occasionally have really stubborn, or old mascara that they haven’t removed properly. Once again I have to get this off, it’s impossible to curl lashes with any old mascara still present, or to apply fresh clump free mascara. This requires a product with a bit more “oomph” in the removing department. For this situation I use Paula’s Choice Eye Makeup Remover. It’s amazingly gentle and extremely effective. It’s also great for removing any lipstick that is very bright and hard to get off.

My other work horse in my stable of removers is baby wipes. You don’t have to spend money on expensive makeup remover wipes. The ones I love are Curash Baby Wipes – the fragrance free ones. These are really soft, they don’t tear when you use them and they are fine on sensitive skin. I simply pour the Bioderma, or Paula’s eye makeup remover onto them.

However when it comes to my personal choice for daily removing of my own makeup – I absolutely love Paula’s Choice One Step Cleanser (there is a range for different skin types) I use the one for normal to dry skin. I’ve always preferred a creamy cleanser, and I’m a bit of a slatherer when it comes to cleansing and moisturising my own face. This cleanser gets everything off (including eye makeup!) – I simply wet my face, squirt a 10 cent size dollop of cleanser into my hands, rub all over my face and eyes (eyes kept closed!) – I do this over the bathroom sink with the water running, and then rinse my face off – all done. Quick and easy! I follow with my moisturiser.
