Learn perfect Makeup for each face
I loved doing this look on @lilysloann
When I’m working on a face I’m immediately looking to design the perfect makeup to suit that individual face:
* Eye Shape
- is it almond, round, droopy, heavy, close together, far apart?
* Eye Colour
- what exactly is it? Cool blue, warm blue, hazel, dark brown, golden light brown, green?
* Skin Texture
- dry, flaky, oily, patchy, pitted, acne, smooth, big pores, no pores?
* Skin tone
- pale and transparent, olive, pink, redness, pigmentation, orange or blue undertones?
* Facial features & Bone structure
- heavy jaw, weak chin, prominent nose, high or low forehead, chiselled cheekbones or no cheekbones, thin or uneven lips, jowls? etc
I then go feature by feature, individually treating each one – enhancing, disguising, bringing forward or pushing back, smoothing, lifting and even creating what may naturally not be there – in a way that appears to the onlooker that the client actually has those features, my goal is ALWAYS for my client to look the BEST version of herself – it’s HER that is noticed NOT the makeup.
This is not a “paint by numbers / use the same makeup, same lashes & same colours on everyone regardless of their features” approach. This IS truly being the ARTIST in Makeup Artist – as I was originally taught to do by some of the best in the business: Oscar winner Peter Frampton and Emmy award winner Marvin Westmore.
Looking forward to another awesome year passing this on to my students.
