Not so flattering angle

Any professional model knows this, as do many girls who regularly take selfies. When you’re photographing your work as a makeup artist, you need to take into consideration your client / model‘s features – our job is always to portray them as flatteringly as possible – of course with makeup application, but equally important for photos you intend to post online. Here you can see how just a subtle adjustment of the angle of the face can make all the difference. Here are two photos of actress/singer Barbara Streisand (taken in the 1960’s). The first shot is a beautiful photo, her face is perfectly positioned; the second shot whilst still beautiful, does not do her nose any favours. Don’t be afraid to take shots from different angles and facial positions to get the most flattering shot.
